Seasonal holidays (i. e., Thanksgiving Day, Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, et. al.) can be challenging for individuals who have experienced a recent loss (from the death of a loved one or the tangible loss of someone or something). The empty chair (or chairs) around the table can serve as a reminder of the recent loss (or losses) and bring waves of emotions. “Surviving the Holidays” is a stand-alone group session that focuses upon additional ways to deal with the grief related challenges and emotions encountered during seasonal holidays.
